  • Due to the power glitch yesterday some uTCA crates in the rackrooms had problems (despite the redundant power lines). This was caused by the firmware not being able to deal with these type of instabilities of the mail power line. The crates are now working again and a new version of the fw will be updated to avoid these issues in the future. In addition, the uTCA crates in the hutches do not get redundant power lines, this means that they went off  and should be checked to make sure they are working properly.

CAS

  • Yesterday there was a problem with the Broker of Karabo in SASE1. SA1 was down for several hours. Cause is being investigated. It was not clear on the CAS side how to communicate the problem properly (Which logbook/mailing list to use). Should be addressed in the operation meetings.

SPB/SFX

  • IT cables in D.23 were re-measured yesterday. Waiting for the measurements. PSPO pushes the company.

FXE

SQS

  • Mpods handover took place. Need to be cabled up on Monday and then configuration can follow (CY).
  • Trigger issue would require AE. TB will check first whether the HW is ok...
  • New uTCA crate with more digitizers has been installed (ITDM/CAS/AE). Tests are ongoing now. (e.g. how many digizizers can be used in parallel). Ok so far.
  • Interlock acting on the MPS interface have been tested but are inactive. Should be activated. Meeting TB/NJ/HS to clarify that. ==> Meeting took place but the interlock are not yet active. Should happen next week.

SCS

MID

HED

  • Problems with the HV ion pump cables in the HED optics. Many of the cables failed the final test and showed sparks. KS, EET are in contact with Fa. Schulz to solve that. It is not clear whether this is a showstopper or the pumps could be operated locally.

AE

  • MPS/ trigger box required by hiBEF issue is being clarified by ZA. AE did not get any request in advance.==> There was a meeting to clairy the issue. Many open points have to be clarified by HED/hibef. The box seems anyway not to be useful...
  • MCP motor in SA1 and 3 does not retract when the limit switch is hit. The update can be done during the next short shutdown. For now, the AE OCD knows the issue and knows how to act on the motors if an issue occurs.
  • Ion pumps remote ON/OFF control: AE is performing some test to see whether once could drive the pumps via serial port w/o updating the loops. Interlocks do not switch the pumps off, it is rather the opposite (no problem in using serial communication then). Once AE finalizes the solution, the IP address of the devices and support will be given to CAS to set up the controls.

SPB/SFX

  • SPB requires the new trigger solution to be implemented for AGIPD. This is urgent and should be done before the next run. SHauf has to check in the DET group whether this can be pushed also wil Jola coming back only next week. ==> done and seems to work
  • Commissioning with beam (e.g. focus characterization) planned for the next days.

FXE

  • Issue with the one picomotor of the monochromator which does not move as far ae expected. (Similar issue we had in MID? To be checked). Benoit Rio is following the issue up.

SQS

SCS

MID

  • Technical commissioning of CRL and imagers ongoing - no specific issues.
  • MIddle layer tests will be performed by CAS (CY)
  • Agipd cannot be used still due to cooling system problems.
  • MIL Loop9 is running

AE

  • Timing server has to be updated again on MOnday 18.02. at 9:00. Mail has been sent already to readiness@xfel.eu with the details
  • No feedback concerning the additional B4C controls in SASE3. HS ans MD have to come back to PG

ITDM

  • Issue with the DAQ was discovered (cameras/digitizers): problems occur when more than 1 camera is using the same data aggregator. Investigation and fix is ongoing. DAQ will need to be re deployed only for these aggregators between today and tomorrow. Tunnels and instruments affected. AGIPD is not affected.  ==> solved

DET

EET

CAS

  • CAS will not deploy devices during the WE on OCD that have not been tested and technically commissioned before.
  • ISAC power supplies: to switch them on and off, an additional piece of circuitry is needed to generate a specifi signal. 2 solution actually esist and it it the wish from CY to avoid using multiple solutions. PG agrees and will look into that. The understanding of CAS and AE will be aligned.
