Dear all,

The Vacuum PLC is up and running and Karaboo guys have already started to work with it.

Thank you and regards

Dear all,

Right now the Motion PLC is up and running. We are still working in the Vacuum one, today by midday should be also working.

55   28 Feb 2017, 11:38 Tobias HaasGeneralInformationReminder: Stable operation and development periods

One word of clarification:

The discussion last Friday left some people uncertain over how to define stable operation and development periods. Hence I had a discussion with Nerea and Alessandro and agreed on the following:

PLC development: Tuesday - Thursday

Stable operation with Karabo: Friday - Monday

Handover period is Thursday afternoon between AE and CAS

Dear all,

on Monday, 27th in the morning we will start with preparation work for the mirror installation in XTD9.

The mirror chamber (VS10130) will be vented and opened. This will affect:

V10270G and V10280G: they will be closed and disconnected

P10410I and P10420I: C10902I will be switched to "local" mode and the HV of the pumps will be switched off.

The work will take at least until Friday, March 3rd.

See the updated component status list for XTD2 and XTD9 tunnels. As discussed at the SASE1 readiness mtg this morning. Yellow fields indicate new/changed entries. Please let me/THaas know if there are errors or further changes to be reported. I also entered the SASE1 instruments now a 'High Priority' items. However, we may need to adapt the table for These entries as the work flow seems different.

  47   15 Feb 2017, 20:10 Alessandro SilenziGeneralFeedbackCurrent Vacuum Status

The PLC is still not completely error free.

It is considerably better performing than the last days:

the current average pressure as measured by the Ion Pumps is 4.21e-09 mBar

there are Currently 96 ion pumps in the Tunnels as seen by the PLC:

3 cannot properly communicate with the PLC

SA1_XTD9_VAC/IPUMP/P10510I

SA1_XTD9_VAC/IPUMP/P11130I

SA1_XTD9_VAC/IPUMP/P12120I

3 have an ambiguous control name:

SA1_XTD2_VAC
SA1_XTD9_VAC2
SA1_XTD9_VAC0

And 4 have no channel assigned in the Karabo inteface (CAS to solve this)

SA1_XTD2_VAC/IPUMP/P10340I
SA1_XTD2_VAC/IPUMP/P10350I
SA1_XTD9_VAC/IPUMP/P10370I
SA1_XTD2_VAC/IPUMP/P10360I

The remaining 86 replied and:

Average pressure is  4.210e-09 mBar

Maximum pressure is  2.60-08 mBar

Minimum pressure is  8.90e-10 mBar

  46   14 Feb 2017, 09:59 Alessandro SilenziGeneralProblemBeckhoff loop status

2017.02.13 19:30 Status:

- Self-Description back in shape.

- Bad SelfDescription reproduced in BeckhoffSim (Karabo implemented PLC communication) and solved in BeckhoffCom (Karabo "PLC Client").

- The build status of the Firmware is not ok. roughly 90% of the PLC soft devices are in error. It is a fault in the automatic Firmware build procedure.

Nerea and Jan will work on this until it is fixed.

  45   12 Feb 2017, 14:02 Alessandro SilenziGeneralProblemCurrent Status

 Vacuum loop:

- Interface between PLC and Karabo is not functioning.

The fault currently resides in the PLC behaviour, the self-description sent out is badly formatted (due to a buffer overrun)

The misbehaviour is confirmed, the PLC TCP Client from AE is also ailed by the same problem.

Motion Loop:

- As of Friday, the motor parameters were not completely sent to AE. In attachment the data collected by N. Jardon (AE). Input needed for PSLIT motors.

Post on behalf of Harald Sinn

(Jan weiss dann, welche LED leuchten muss).

Harald

40   09 Feb 2017, 17:16 Tobias HaasGeneralInformationStatus of Differential Pumping

Post on behalf of R. Villanueva

please find attached the updated status of the Differential Pumping
Modules in SASE 1. Just a few comments.

1. As you can imagine, no progress after KW4 in XTD2: system is ready to
deploy Karabo.
2. In XTD9, we have been pushing forward to finish the local test with AE.
Right now, everything has passed the local test except 3 vacuum gauges
that will be rechecked after the meeting. The main reasons for the little
progress (84%----->87%) are:

  a) more problems than expected with the cabling.
  b) a faulty Beckhoff Terminal.
  c) prioritization of  manpower (AE and VG) in other devices in the
tunnel.
d)....the usual "sigmoidal" behavior of this kind of process.... ;)

3. In any case we aim to leave the system ready tomorrow so next week the
interlock code can be deployed safely.

Have a nice evening,

R.
