End switch testing: the in-position end switch stopped devices working, also stopped gateway connection. Stroke of motor is not correct, parameter list to be checked. More details in "Improvements / bug list".

The interlock test in XTD9-DPS has been done. The Vacuum PLC is again available for Karaboo.

Dear all,

Tomorrow morning, 08th of March at 09.30h. I will be in the tunnel doing interlock tests in the DPS-XTD9 with Raúl.

Therefore I will need the connection of the TCP_Client in the Vacuum loop (just to let know Karaboo people).

I will post again when the PLC is available for Karaboo.

6.3.2017, Karabo tests in XTD2 with Wajid, Andreas

1. Karabo all devices, all scenes working, with restrictions.

2. Power supply, motor, LED working.

3. Scenes tested: Motor scene and camera scene need additional parameters. AK will edit a list of suggestions, improvements and bugs.

4. Bugs, observations, details in improvement list.:

- Homing not working, tried also old parameter set from prototype crate.

- Encoder position not correct, dragging behind.

- Parameter for braking switch missing “ALowSpeed”.

Dear all,

Right now the Motion PLC is up and running. We are still working in the Vacuum one, today by midday should be also working.

One word of clarification:

The discussion last Friday left some people uncertain over how to define stable operation and development periods. Hence I had a discussion with Nerea and Alessandro and agreed on the following:

PLC development: Tuesday - Thursday

Stable operation with Karabo: Friday - Monday

Handover period is Thursday afternoon between AE and CAS

on Monday, 27th in the morning we will start with preparation work for the mirror installation in XTD9.

The mirror chamber (VS10130) will be vented and opened. This will affect:

V10270G and V10280G: they will be closed and disconnected

P10410I and P10420I: C10902I will be switched to "local" mode and the HV of the pumps will be switched off.

The work will take at least until Friday, March 3rd.

Please let me/THaas know if there are errors or further changes to be reported. I also entered the SASE1 instruments now a 'High Priority' items. However, we may need to adapt the table for These entries as the work flow seems different.

The PLC is still not completely error free.

It is considerably better performing than the last days:

the current average pressure as measured by the Ion Pumps is 4.21e-09 mBar

there are Currently 96 ion pumps in the Tunnels as seen by the PLC:

3 cannot properly communicate with the PLC

2017.02.13 19:30 Status:

- Self-Description back in shape.

- Bad SelfDescription reproduced in BeckhoffSim (Karabo implemented PLC communication) and solved in BeckhoffCom (Karabo "PLC Client").

- The build status of the Firmware is not ok. roughly 90% of the PLC soft devices are in error. It is a fault in the automatic Firmware build procedure.

Nerea and Jan will work on this until it is fixed.

 Vacuum loop:

- Interface between PLC and Karabo is not functioning.

The fault currently resides in the PLC behaviour, the self-description sent out is badly formatted (due to a buffer overrun)

The misbehaviour is confirmed, the PLC TCP Client from AE is also ailed by the same problem.

Motion Loop:

- As of Friday, the motor parameters were not completely sent to AE. In attachment the data collected by N. Jardon (AE). Input needed for PSLIT motors.
