Entry   Current Vacuum Status, posted by Alessandro Silenzi on 15 Feb 2017, 20:10 20170215Vacuum.txt

The PLC is still not completely error free.

It is considerably better performing than the last days:

the current average pressure as measured by the Ion Pumps is 4.21e-09 mBar

there are Currently 96 ion pumps in the Tunnels as seen by the PLC:

3 cannot properly communicate with the PLC

SA1_XTD9_VAC/IPUMP/P10510I

SA1_XTD9_VAC/IPUMP/P11130I

SA1_XTD9_VAC/IPUMP/P12120I

3 have an ambiguous control name:

SA1_XTD2_VAC
SA1_XTD9_VAC2
SA1_XTD9_VAC0

And 4 have no channel assigned in the Karabo inteface (CAS to solve this)

SA1_XTD2_VAC/IPUMP/P10340I
SA1_XTD2_VAC/IPUMP/P10350I
SA1_XTD9_VAC/IPUMP/P10370I
SA1_XTD2_VAC/IPUMP/P10360I

The remaining 86 replied and:

Average pressure is  4.210e-09 mBar

Maximum pressure is  2.60-08 mBar

Minimum pressure is  8.90e-10 mBar

Entry   Please inform on rack status 1.18, posted by Andreas Koch on 05 Apr 2017, 14:14

The rack 1.18 in XTD9 is not operational at the moment because Nicola is working on it. Nerea, Tobias or others let me know when it is fully operational again. This avoids checking it in the tunnel. Alternatively, let me know if I can check remotely.

 Confirmed from Karabo side.

Entry   XTD2 Complete Gas Section (DPS-XGM-DPS) Isolation Interlock tested - SUCCESSFUL, posted by Raśl Villanueva-Guerrero on 11 Apr 2017, 17:44

The interlock definition for complete isolation of the whole section based on high pressure signal has been successfully tested.

DPS (Upstream and Downstream) are now fully "controlled" by Karabo.

XGM has been reported by J. Grünert that it will be re-integrated during the evening.

Still some problems to call the remote operation of the turbopumps from Karabo, but it doesn´t compromise any of the interlock definitions (only is troublesome if the one needs to work with the pump, for instance after the interlock has been triggered).

Entry   Fast Valve Test - SUCCESFUL, posted by Raśl Villanueva-Guerrero on 11 Apr 2017, 18:29

The Fast Valve test has been positively tested.

It has been consider that the signal on the EPS to open again, should be also available in the vacuum loop. Still this need to be further discussed.

Entry   Beam Stopper and V0 valve test - SUCCESSFUL, posted by Raśl Villanueva-Guerrero on 11 Apr 2017, 18:38

The Interlock conditions for these two components has been positively tested but not exhaustively done:

The triggering of both via the actuation on the Fast Valve----------------->DONE and OK

Their triggering via HV down of each of the 6 ion pumps------------------>Partially DONE and OK: Partially means that only one of the pumps randomly chosen has been deactivated. The agreement is that the other remaining 5 can be done later, also from the office since the correspondence between the devices and the physical components has been confirmed.

Also, the individual actuation of both, Beam Stopper and V0 valve has been proof showing a consistent behaviour regarding the interlock definition.

Finally the XFEL Vacuum OK signal is available but AE is currently improving it. By the moment is not automatically sent to DESY, but instead it needs to be activated manually. According to AE feedback this should be corrected in the following days.

Entry   VAC loop up and running agian, posted by Tobias Freyermuth on 13 Apr 2017, 16:21

The first EtherCAT coupler in 1.7 VAC was broken and is replaced now. The loop is up and running again.

Cheers,

Entry   SASE EPS RACK 1.14 connected, posted by Tobias Freyermuth on 21 Apr 2017, 15:30

The EPS-loop is now complete again.

The interface from EPS to MPS is working now. One broken wire in the cable between EPS and MPS was found. We are using now other pairs for the signals "SA1_SYS_EPS2MPS/DCTRL/MODE1", "SA1_SYS_EPS2MPS/DCTRL/MODES" and "SA1_SYS_EPS2MPS/DCTRL/MODEM".

Cheers,

    Tobias

Entry   XTD9 Complete Gas Section (DPS-XGM-DPS) Isolation Interlock tested - SUCCESFUL, posted by Raśl Villanueva-Guerrero on 26 Apr 2017, 19:21

 Dear all,

Finally the tests were run with the expected results: Pressure thresholds for the 3 involved gauges were forced on the system and the interlock on the two gate valves that limit the whole gas section were automatically closed in every case. Also the release switch was tested and the valves were able to be normally operated again.

However the interlock definition also involves the closing of the so-called "shut-off" valve in the gas injection line at the XGM. Unfortunately its behaviour couldn´t be completely observed since the Karabo device is not fully implemented. On the other hand, J. Grünert reported that after the interlock was triggered the valve was shown as also "interlocked" (despite the actual status, open or closed was not clear). This situation may require a second test, combined for instance with the gas injection test to be run by WP74 in the upcoming date).

In any case the final results were rather positive. (despite there still some permanent uncertainty about devices being reachable or not through Karabo, as it has been previously reported).

Thanks to everyone involved.

Raúl Villanueva on behalf of B. Rio, N. Jardon and V. Bondar.

Entry   Gas Section Interlock on XTD9 - Shut off valve also operative, posted by Raśl Villanueva-Guerrero on 03 May 2017, 14:38 45.png

 Dear all,

during the test run today by our colleagues of WP74, the interlock condition inside the XGM module was met (small volume pressure burst up to 10-2 mbar range). Now we can see also the expected cut-off event of the gas injection (see attached pictured). It seems that the reason why there was any feedback from the respective shut-off valve was the solenoid actuator on the respective shut-off valve was set in manual mode.

This means that XTD9 Interlock for the whole gas section has been up and running as expected the whole time.

Best Regards.

Entry   Request for imager checks, posted by Andreas Koch on 16 May 2017, 15:59

Since tomorrow there is no beam I want to use the time for some checks of the imagers in XTD2. Please, let the motion loop up if possible until 10 am, otherwise let me know.

Entry   Imager status, posted by Andreas Koch on 18 May 2017, 16:32

After the update of the PLC firmware, the imagers are in following status:

SR: auto gain off seems to work, correct image, screens are out. Beamview just crashed, I asked Alessandro and Dennis to have a look.

Pop-In: Everything fine.

FEL: strange image. We had this before, no idea what the reason is. I will keep trying.

Another update of the motion loop is planned later. Contact Nerea for details.
