I have read and accept the Scientific Data Policy of European X‑Ray Free‑Electron Laser Facility GmbH dated June 2017 ("Scientific Data Policy 2017"), applicable to proposal calls open before 2025, and where data obtained from experiments is generated for allocation periods before or on 30 June 2025, and I have read and accept the Scientific Data Policy of European X‑Ray Free‑Electron Laser Facility GmbH dated October 2023 ("Scientific Data Policy 2023") applicable to proposals submitted in calls open from 2025 onwards or where data obtained from experiments is generated for allocation periods after 30 June 2025.

I expressly confirm that I am aware of the fact that scientific data in scope of

• the Scientific Data Policy 2017 will be made available by European X-Ray Free-Electron Laser Facility GmbH in accordance with this policy. Any raw data and associated metadata will therefore be made available as open access after the agreed embargo period, any calibration data and alignment data will be made available as open access immediately without an embargo period.
• the Scientific Data Policy 2023 will be made available by European X-Ray Free-Electron Laser Facility GmbH in accordance with this policy. Metadata related to raw data, and reduced data and associated metadata (that are curated by European XFEL GmbH) will therefore be made available as open access after the agreed embargo period, but high level metadata and datasets and (unless otherwise agreed with European XFEL GmbH) calibration data and associated metadata will be made publicly accessible before the end of the embargo period.

Acceptance of the Scientific Data Policy 2017 is a condition for the award of beamtime and access to the associated scientific data and metadata curated by European XFEL that is not made openly available for proposals subject to the Scientific Data Policy 2017. For details regarding publication of data, please note in particular clause 4.1.1 (access to raw data and associated metadata), and clause 5.3.1 (access to results) of this policy.

Acceptance of the Scientific Data Policy 2023 is a condition for the award of beamtime and access to the associated scientific data and metadata curated by European XFEL that is not made openly available for proposals subject to the Scientific Data Policy 2023. For details regarding publication of data, please note in particular clause 7.2 (access to raw data and associated metadata), and clause 8.2 (access to processed data, reduced data, and auxiliary data) of this policy.

For details regarding the processing of personal data in connection with UPEX, please see the UPEX Privacy Policy. Regarding the processing of personal data in connection with the use of the European XFEL Facility, the data handling provisions of the Terms and Conditions for the non-proprietary user access to the European XFEL Facility (currently in preparation) apply.

I consent to the processing of my personal data (first and last name, name and address of the institute I am currently working for, gender, birth date, birth place including country, nationality) by the European XFEL GmbH for the purpose of matching these with embargo lists. I may withdraw my consent at any time for the future. I am aware that without my consent, I will not be able to register for UPEX and submit a proposal or participate in an experiment at the European XFEL.
