THURSDAY 12..06:
At ~1:00AM on the night Wed-Thu the cold compressors had an issue with their operation and they shut down. It takes time to fill the He-levels and to get the whole system stable again. Operation and beam delivery is currently not possible.
*Status 07:30: The best case scenario is that the cryo plant may be back in operation at ~1 pm. That would mean photon delivery not before ~3 pm. Further accessment and update will be made after lunch time.
*Status 08:45: Parts were exchanged at the cold compressor this morning and only by 15:00 we will be able to know if cryo system gets stable allowing for operation.
*Status 16:00: Cryo team still works to recover the cold compressor and will update RC and PRC when reliable information is available. There will be no beam delivery to instruments for the afternoon shift (15:00-23:00).
*Status 17:30: Unfortunately the attempt to restart the cold compressor failed and the Cryo colleagues are going to exchange one motor; This means we have no beam delivery tonight and tomorrow morning. The earliest we could have photons is on Friday 14:00 or later. The more exact situation for the Friday afternoon will be known and communicated during Friday morning; Also note that BKR operator's shifts will restart on Friday 7AM. |
